Routing / Travel Plan (Complete Itinerary Day wise) - 6Nights / 7Days

Day 1: Delhi -Shimla

Pick up from Delhi airport/ railway station and transfer by road to Shimla. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. The evening is at leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Shimla

After breakfast visits Kufri situated at an altitude of 2500 meters just an hour drive from Shimla. Later in the afternoon go for sightseeing of Vice Regal Lodge and walk down the Mall Road. Attractions of the mall road include Shimla Church, Scandal Point, Gaiety Theatre, Town hall & shopping.
Evening, return back to the hotel for a night stay.

Day 3: Shimla-Manali (257kms/7hrs)

After breakfast depart to Manali, a picture-perfect hill station at an altitude of 1929mtrs. Drive past Kullu Valley and Pandoh Dam. On arrival check-in at the hotel. The evening is at leisure. Enjoy your dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4: Manali

After breakfast, take half-day local sightseeing of Manali, visiting the 450 years old Hadimba temple, Manu Temple, Club House. Visit the Tibetan Monastery and the handicraft center and walk to the nearby picturesque village of Vashisht known for its hot sulfur springs. Enjoy your dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: Manali

Early morning take a half-day excursion to Rohtang Pass/ snow point. (Closed on Tuesday).

On your way back, visit Solang Valley. You can opt for adventure sports like Para Gliding, Zorbing, and Skiing (subject to snow) on a direct payment basis.Enjoy your dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: Manali to Chandigarh (320Kms/8Hrs)

Toady Depart early morning for Chandigarh.

Day 7 Chandigarh airport

After Breakfast proceed for the rock garden, Pinjore garden and later depart for Airport/railway station

SHIMLA:

Shimla is well-connected by road network to all major cities in north India and to all major towns and district headquarters within the state. [NH-5]National Highway 5(Formerly NH 22) connects Shimla to the nearest big city ofChandigarh.Transport services in these areas are also expanding rapidly. Tourist taxis are also an option for out of town trips. Locals typically traverse the city on foot. Private vehicles are prohibited on the Mall, Ridge and nearby markets. Due to narrow roads and steep slopes, theauto-rickshawswhich are common in other Indian cities are largely absent.

Places of interest in SHIMLA:

1. The Mall: The Mall is the main shopping street of Shimla. It has many restaurants, clubs, banks, bars, post offices and tourist offices. The Gaiety Theatre is situated there.
2. The Ridge: The Ridge is a large open space, which is situated alongside the Mall Road and hosts all the cultural activities in the city. Christ Church, The State Library and Gaiety Heritage Cultural Complex are some of the notable buildings located here.
3. Christ Church: Situated on the Ridge, Christ Church is the second oldest church inNorthern India. Inside there are stained glass windows that represent faith, hope, charity, fortitude, patience and humility.
4. Jakhoo: 2km from Shimla, at a height of 8,000ft, Jakhu Hill is the highest peak in the city and has views of the city and of the snow-covered Himalayas.
5. Jakhu Ropeway: This ropeway connects Jakhu temple to the ridge ground and is the first ropeway in Shimla.
6. Badi ki dhar: Badi Dhar is situated at an altitude of 6781 feet above sea level. Beautiful sights of Shimla can be seen from the top of the hill. The place is famous for its Lord Shiva temple and annual fair which is organised on 14/15 June.
7. Indian Institute of Advanced Study: This institute is housed at the formerViceregal Lodge, built-in 1884–88.
8. Summer Hill: The township of Summer Hill is at a height of 6,500ft on the Shimla-Kalka railway line. Mahatma Gandhi lived in these quiet surroundings during his visits to Shimla. Himachal Pradesh University is situated here.
9. Tara Devi: 11km from the Shimla bus-stand. Tara Devi Hill has a temple dedicated to the goddess of stars on top of the hill. There is a military Dairy Town here as well as the headquarters of Bharat Scouts and Guides.
10. Kufri: 16 km from Shimla at a height of 8,600ft, Kufri is the local winter sports center, and has a small zoo.
11. Chail: Situated at 45 kilometers from Shimla, Chail was built as a summer retreat by theMaharaja of Patialaduring the British Raj, it is known for the world's highest cricket ground at a height of 7220 feet situated in the cantonment area.

MANALI:

Manali can be reached from Delhi bynational highway NH 1up toAmbalaand from thereNH 22toChandigarhand from there bynational highway NH21that passes throughBilaspur,Sundernagar,MandiandKullutowns. The road distance from Chandigarh to Manali is 310km (190mi), and the total distance from Delhi to Manali is 570km (350mi).

Places of interest in MANALI:

1. Solang Valley :A valley between the Beas Kund and the Solang village tends to be a favorite for all its visitors as well as the locals. Also known as the Snow point, the Solang valley is famous not only for the glaciers and snow-clad landscapes but also for the countless activities that one can enjoy here.
2. Rohtang Pass :Rohtang pass is the stretch that connects Manali to Himachal's more dreamy and dessert-like landscapes, Spiti and Lahaul, and is one itself. This vast snow desert is a landscape like only a few others and a view one should not miss, while here.
3. Beas Kund Trek :The Beas Kund trek is a perfect weekend getaway trekwith outstanding views of Pir Pinjal mountain ranges over the Beas river. let your soul get wooed by the spectacular meadows of Dhundi and Bakarthach and finally, the glacial lake at Beas Kund which is worth all the hiking.
4. Paragliding in Manali :The hillside town of Manali is famous for paragliding. At 2050 meters above sea level, it is an ultimate location for the sport, with its beautiful green valleys, stark blue skies, and snow-capped mountain peaks. The picture-perfect valley boasts of ideal wind conditions for paragliding and is thronged by both international and domestic tourists. Starting with a basic training course, the operators are well organized, competent and trustworthy.
5. Hadimba Temple :Hadimba temple, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, is a peaceful place surrounded by towering deodar trees. The temple is dedicated to Hidimba, the wife of Bhima, one of the five Pandava prince from the great Indian epic Mahabharata.
6. Vashisht Baths :While most temples will leave you spiritually rejuvenated, there are a few where you can take a dip into hot water springs and baths, which leave you refreshed and maybe even healthier.
7. Chandratal Baralacha Trek :Chandratal Baralacha is a perfect trek destination steeped with all the right elements - nature's beauty and enough challenges to be thrilling and tranquillity. Perched at an altitude of 4,300 meters, Chandratal is one of the high altitude lakes in the Himalayan region.
8. Manikaran :Manikaran is a small town situated between rivers Parvati and Beas, famous for its hot water springs and beautiful landscapes. The town has a famous Gurudwara called Manikaran Sahib and it is frequented by Sikhs from all over the country.
9. Hampta Pass Trek :Hampta Pass, situated in the Manali region of the Himachal Pradesh, serves as one of the most convenient and enjoyable treks. Laden with a pristine form of nature, the trail comprises of dense pine forests, pristine glacial valleys, vast meadows and panoramic landscape.
10. Kullu :This sister town to Manali too, is a hill station of dreamy landscapes and sceneries, a hub of adventure activities as well as home to a number of sacred temples and shrines.

Chandigarh has the largest number of vehicles per capita in India.Wide, well-maintained roads and parking spaces all over the city ease local transport.Chandigarh is well connected by road to the following nearby cities, by NH7 to Patiala, NH152 to Ambala, NH44 to Panipath-Delhi, NH5 to Shimla.
